The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are saddened by the passing of Cowboy No.31 and inaugural squad member Robert Piva.
A New Zealand International, Piva played nine games for the Cowboys during the club's maiden season in 1995.
A fearsome front-rower, Piva had a prolific career in New Zealand before moving to England to play for Wakefield in 1994.
The Cowboys would like to extend the club's condolences to Piva's family.
