North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Head Coach Todd Payten will unleash the majority of his biggest stars for Sunday’s second and final pre-season trial against the Melbourne Storm at Casey Fields.

John Bateman will make his first appearance in Cowboys colours, named to partner Jeremiah Nanai in the second row.

Braidon Burns will have the final opportunity to win the vacant right wing spot, with Jaxson Paulo and Rob Derby named on the interchange.

Young gun Jaxon Purdue has been named at centre, partnering Viliami Vailea.

Tom Duffy will start at halfback and is set for an 80-minute audition to win the No.7 jersey, with Jake Clifford sidelined due to hernia surgery.
