The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have agreed to contract extensions with seven NRLW squad members, including skipper Tallisha Harden and State of Origin front-rower Makenzie Weale.
Harden signed a one-year extension for 2025, ensuring her veteran presence remains at the club for at least one more season.
Fellow prop Weale inked a three-year deal running through the 2027 season. The Maroons star missed much of the 2024 NRLW season through concussion issues, but is expected to be cleared for full training by the start of the 2025 pre-season.
Fullback Fran Goldthorp has also signed on for an additional three seasons. The English International has been one of the Cowboys most consistent players in the club’s first two seasons.
Raftstrand-Smith sisters Tiana and Ebony have extended their stays through 2027. Tiana has been a standout in her two seasons in North Queensland, scoring five tries in her 16 games. Ebony has registered just the one NRLW appearance, but the Queensland Under 19s winger has been earmarked for a bright future in the game.
PNG International Essay Banu has signed a two-year extension. The 22-year-old solidified a starting spot in the front row for the Cowboys in 2024.
Teenage flyer Ana Malupo has earned a promotion to the Top 24 after spending her first season at the club on a Development List Contract. The 19-year-old Northern Territory product represented Tonga in the Pacific Championships at the end of the 2024 season.
“All seven of these women have had significant influence on and off the field in our club’s first two seasons in the NRLW,” Cowboys NRLW Head Coach Ricky Henry said.
“Tallisha, Makenzie, Fran, Tiana and Essay are all established members of our squad, while we believe Ebony and Ana will play important roles for our NRLW squad in the near future.”
