Inaugural North Queensland Toyota Cowboys NRLW Player of the Year Emma Manzelmann again shapes as a leading contender for the award, which will be presented at the club’s Presentation Night at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre on Monday.
Manzelmann appeared in all nine games for the second consecutive season, averaging 34 tackles and 47 running metres an outing.
Centre Jakiya Whitfeld was a revelation in her first season in North Queensland. Whitfeld averaged an enormous 155 running metres a game to go with a team-leading six tries and 58 tackle breaks.
Fellow centre Jasmine Peters was also impressive, with the Mackay product crossing for four tries, while averaging 100 running metres a game.
Co-captain Kirra Dibb finished third in the NRL with eight try assists. Dibb also forced six dropouts and kicked 18 goals at 72 per cent.
Teenage prop Lily Peacock produced a brilliant season in her first full campaign in the NRLW. The 19-year-old made 225 tackles at an almost unbelieveable efficiency of 98 per cent, while also averaging 123 running metres.
Second-rower Tiana Raftstrand-Smith again proved a handful with ball-in-hand, scoring four tries and registering 22 tackle breaks.
Lock Bree Chester produced a magical 2024 after switching from second-row to middle forward. Chester played the entire 70 minutes in all but one game. Chester returned averages of 130 running metres and 39 tackles a game.
