Chester, Tillett extend

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have agreed to contract extensions with NRLW stars Bree Chester and Tahlulah Tillett.

Chester has inked a two-year extension running through 2026, while Tillett has signed until the end of 2025.

Chester has emerged as one of the Cowboys most consistent performers despite being in just her second season in the NRLW.

The 22-year-old has shifted from second row to lock this season and is averaging 139 running metres and 33 tackles a game.

Tillett, the NRL’s reigning Veronica White Medalist for her work in the community, was one of the first signings in Cowboys NRLW history prior to the 2023 season.

A proud product of Far North Queensland, Tillett has emerged as the Cowboys’ first-choice five-eighth in 2024, forming a dangerous combination with halves partner Kirra Dibb.

“Bree has a terrific work ethic, which is something we value highly here at the Cowboys,” Cowboys Head of NRLW and Women’s Elite Pathways Anita Creenaune said.

“She can play anywhere in the forward pack, which provides Ricky great versatility and away from the field she brings a great energy to our group.

“Bree has shown a real dedication to the club. She had an opportunity to go home, but she chose to stay here because she believes in what we’re doing and enjoys being coached by Rick.”

Creenaune said the Cowboys were also thrilled to extend Tillett’s contract.

“Tahlulah is a tremendous leader amongst our playing group, has a great work ethic and is an extremely coachable player,” she said.

“Tilly is also an invaluable member of our Community team and is an exemplary representative and ambassador for the club.

“We are really happy to be able to secure her as a member of our NRLW Squad for season 2025.”
