Jake Clifford has been recalled to the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys side to start at halfback in Saturday’s showdown with the Canberra Raiders at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Clifford has been in scintillating form for the competition-leading Northern Pride in the Queensland Cup, with 17 try assists and eight tries, including a double last weekend, in 14 appearances.

It will be the 26-year-old’s fourth appearance in his return season to North Queensland.

Jeremiah Nanai will miss the game through concussion after failing a game day HIA last weekend, with Kulikefu Finefeuiaki to start in the second row.

Tom Mikaele returns to the interchange.

Saturday also marks the 100th NRL appearance for Cowboys co-captain Tom Dearden.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 5.30pm.
