The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys will retire the No.12 jersey for Saturday’s XXXX Derby blockbuster against the Brisbane Broncos at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Saturday’s match day will be dedicated to Webb, who passed away from Motor Neurone Disease in December last year.

North Queensland players will wear a Charity Jersey, which is a replica of the 2005 jersey, Webb's first season at the club, with his player number 168 emblazoned under the Cowboys logo.

Man of the Match from the Cowboys and Broncos showdown will be awarded the Carl Webb Medal, which was won by Pat Carrigan in the Round 4 away fixture.

Carl Webb Foundation hats will be available for purchase at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Webb appeared in 115 games for the Cowboys between the 2005-2010 seasons and 66 for the Broncos between 2000-2004.

“Carl wore the number 12 in the first of his 115 appearances for the Cowboys, and it is fitting that we pay tribute by retiring his number for this special occasion" Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel said.

"While none of our current squad had the privilege of playing with Carl, his legacy will continue to live on and seeing his number 12 jersey on the bench will give the team an added boost for a crucial XXXX Derby clash.”
