The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have unveiled their 2024 Charity Jersey, paying tribute to one of the toughest to ever represent the club, Cowboy #168 Carl Webb, who sadly passed away in December 2023.

Webb announced in 2020 he had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, fighting an inspirational and public battle against the disease, setting up the Carl Webb Foundation to raise awareness and funds to aid in the battle against MND, which has no known cure.
Proceeds from the sale and auction of the 2024 Charity Jersey will contribute to a minimum $20,000 donation to the Carl Webb Foundation by the Cowboys.

The Jersey is a throwback to the iconic bullhorn design worn by Webb when he first arrived at the Cowboys in 2005, and immortalised in the club’s run towards its first grand final appearance that year.
Featuring the return of a traditional style collar, Webb’s player number, #168 is displayed beneath the Cowboys emblem, commemorating his pivotal contribution across a 115 game stint at the club, the most of his 187 appearances at NRL level.
Sitting proudly on each shoulder is the Carl Webb Foundation logo, supporting Carl’s vision of helping individuals and families affected by MND.
Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel said the club would also like to recognise major partners, Toyota, Bravus Mining & Resources, YETI and TAFE Queensland for working closely with the Cowboys and apparel partner, Dynasty to create a unified design to give due recognition to a club legend like Webb.
“Carl was one of the toughest to wear our jersey, and played a critical role in the transformational change at our club in the mid 2000’s,
“His unrelenting intensity in which he played the game was matched off the field by the respect and love for not just his teammates, but for everyone who came in contact with him, and it’s a privilege for our club to be able to honour Carl, his family and support the work of the Carl Webb Foundation with our 2024 Charity Jersey,” he said.
The Charity Jersey will be worn by the Cowboys NRL squad for the Round 23 blockbuster XXXX Derby clash against the Broncos on 10 August at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, proudly supported by Toyota.
The jersey is now available in men’s, women’s and kids sizes online at www.cowboysteamshop.com.au, and will be available at the Cowboys Team Shop, in-person at 335 Flinders Street, Townsville City from Wednesday 31 July.
A select range of Carl Webb Foundation merchandise will also be available at the game, and in-store at the Cowboys Team Shop, with all proceeds to head towards the Foundation.
