North Queensland Toyota Cowboys NRLW quartet Shaylee Joseph, Ebony Raftstrand-Smith, Lily Peacock and Libby Surha have all been named in the Queensland Under 19s women’s 24-player squad ahead of next month’s match against New South Wales.
The group, which was selected following last month’s Women’s National Championships on the Gold Coast, will assemble in Redcliffe this weekend.
A 2022 Australian Schoolgirls front-rower, Joseph, 17, played the 2023 NSW Harvey Norman Women’s season with the Central Coast Roosters and is a member of the Cowboys top 24.
Another 17-year-old middle forward, Peacock has come through the Mackay Cutters pathways system before making her BMD Premiership debut in Round 6 this season.
Raftstrand-Smith, 17, is an exciting outside back who has represented both the Queensland and Australia Schoolgirls sides while attending Keebra Park State High School.
Finally, 2022 Australian Prime Minister’s XIII representative Surha, was named the Mackay Cutters Rookie of the Year following a sensational season in the centres.
Following the camp, the team will be finalised ahead of their clash with NSW on July 13.
