State of Origin star Kirra Dibb has agreed to a two-year contract with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys NRLW side, running through the end of the 2024 season.
One of the most decorated playmakers in the women’s game, Dibb joins the Cowboys on the back of leading the Newcastle Knights to a premiership in 2022.
The 25-year-old has appeared in 18 NRLW games across five seasons for the Roosters, Warriors and Knights. She started all seven games at five-eighth for the Knights last season, including the 32-12 grand final victory over the Parramatta Eels.
Dibb played a starring role for NSW in their thrilling State of Origin victory in 2022. Starting at five-eighth, Dibb scored a sensational individual try in the first half to help NSW to a 20-14 triumph.
Dibb has also represented the Indigenous All Stars in both 2022 and 2023 and the Jillaroos in 2019.
“Kirra is a major signing for our club in our inaugural season,” Cowboys NRLW Head Coach Ben Jeffries said.
“She is a highly rated representative player who brings a huge amount of experience and success.
“Like all good halves, Kirra is a strong communicator and gifted playmaker with a long kicking game as well as being an extremely accurate goal kicker.
“At the Cowboys we love our players to be competitive and highly driven on and off the field, which is why Kirra will be highly valued at our club moving forward.
“Kirra is looking forward to embracing North Queensland culture and we can’t wait to have her in our colours.”
