Ahead of this Sunday morning’s World Cup final between Australia and Samoa, we thought we would take a look at what our players’ jersey numbers would look like if we adopted the Kangaroos system*.
Under the Kangaroos system, the captain is given the #1 jersey, with the other jerseys allocated based on the order in which they debuted.
The remaining players in the squad are allocated their numbers alphabetically.
Under this system (which we will not be adopting), co-captains Jason Taumalolo and Chad Townsend would take the first two jerseys, with James Tamou allocated the #3 jersey as he was the first to debut in 2009.
