Footy connecting communities: Obe Geia Challenge 2022

Clear skies, crystal blue waters and friendly faces greeted 9 Townsville schools and 2 local schools on Palm Island for the annual Obe Geia Challenge, presented by Navarre Minerals and supported by SeaLink Queensland and Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council. Players aged 10-12 participated in the junior rugby league comp which saw each team play four pool games each ahead of the grand final between St Clare’s Catholic School and Kelso State School, with Kelso running in 4 tries to 2 to take this year’s title.
