Kelso Kookaburras win 2022 Obe Geia Challenge
A spirited performance in the grand final has seen Kelso State School win the 2022 Obe Geia Challenge ahead of runners-up St Clare's Catholic School. Nine Townsville schools joined two local schools on Palm Island for the annual junior rugby league carnival which gives mainland students an opportunity to experience first-hand the beauty of Palm Island, its people and their culture. The 2022 Obe Geia Challenge was proudly presented by Navarre Minerals and supported by SeaLink Queensland, Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council, Selectability and CEQ Bwgcolman Supermarket.
