North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Head Coach Todd Payten has reduced his squad to 19 for Friday night's clash with the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Tom Dearden returns and will start at five-eighth, with Ben Hampton dropping out of the squad alongside Jeremiah Nanai, Kane Bradley, Reuben Cotter and Brendan Frei.
