North Queensland Toyota Cowboys fan favourite Reuben Cotter will make his season debut in Sunday’s XXXX Derby showdown with the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
Cotter has been named on the bench by Cowboys Head Coach Todd Payten in a direct replacement for Mitch Dunn, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ACL tear.
Cotter was a standout at lock for North Queensland in the trial victory over the Broncos in February, but sustained a minor hamstring injury in the final training session before Round 1.
The remainder of Payten’s 17 remains the same from Saturday’s victory over the Raiders.
Round 1 starting prop Jamayne Taunoa-Brown remains an outside chance to return from a knee injury after being named in the reserves.
Griffin Neame holds his spot on the interchange after an impressive season debut against the Raiders.
Sunday’s game kicks off at 3.05pm.
