North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Head Coach Todd Payten has named a near full strength 20-man squad for Saturday night’s trial against the Brisbane Broncos at Mackay’s BB Print Stadium.
Skipper Jason Taumalolo is the only big name missing, with Payten opting to rest the star lock as he continues to manage a minor hamstring complaint. Taumalolo is in no danger of missing the Round 1 clash with the Bulldogs on March 13.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has been named in the No.1 jersey after making a successful full-time transition to fullback in the pre-season.
Valentine Holmes will also complete his positional switch after being named at centre alongside new recruit Peta Hiku.
Tom Dearden will start the game at five-eighth with Scott Drinkwater to play the second half.
Jamayne Taunoa-Brown has capped off an impressive first pre-season in North Queensland with a starting front-row berth alongside Coen Hess.
Reuben Cotter starts at lock in the absence of Taumalolo with young guns Heilum Luki and Jeremiah Nanai to start in the second row.
Hooker Jake Granville joins forwards Jordan McLean, Mitch Dunn, Tom Gilbert and Griffin Neame as well as backs Drinkwater and Brendan Elliot on the interchange.
