North Queensland Toyota Cowboys captain Michael Morgan will make his return from a shoulder injury in Sunday’s clash with the Gold Coast Titans at CBUS Super Stadium.
Morgan has been sidelined since Round 2 after undergoing shoulder surgery during the COVID-19 break.
The 28-year-old returns at halfback with Ben Hampton named to partner Morgan in the halves after an impressive showing against the Raiders last week.
Cowboys Interim Head Coach Josh Hannay will hand 21-year-old prop Emry Pere his NRL debut against the Titans.
Pere, who becomes Cowboy No.291, has been part of the Cowboys’ NRL squad since 2018 and represented the Junior Kiwis in both 2017 and 2018.
Tom Opacic also makes his comeback from injury at centre with Justin O’Neill shifting to the wing to replace Murray Taulagi, who will miss the game through a wrist injury.
Josh McGuire returns from suspension at prop, while Mitch Dunn has been elevated to the starting side to partner Coen Hess in the second row.
Jake Granville will make his first appearance in the NRL since Round 4 after being named on the interchange alongside forwards Tom Gilbert, Pere and Francis Molo.
Sunday’s game kicks off at 2pm.
