NRL team list: Round 5 v Warriors

Homegrown North Queensland product Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow will make his NRL debut in Friday night’s showdown with the Warriors at Central Coast Stadium.

Born and raised in Cairns, Tabuai-Fidow was signed to the Cowboys Academy Program in 2017 and joined the NRL squad in 2020.

The 18-year-old starred for the Cowboys in the victorious NRL Nines campaign earlier this year, scoring four times in as many games, including a late try to seal victory over St George Illawarra in the grand final.

Tabuai-Fidow will line up on the wing for the Cowboys in his debut appearance.

Reece Robson has been named to start at hooker for the first time in Cowboys colours, with fellow dummy-half Reuben Cotter promoted to the interchange for his first appearance in 2020.

Second-rowers Mitch Dunn and Coen Hess have been named to return from their respective injuries. Dunn was forced from the field mid-way through the first half against the Sharks and failed the subsequent HIA, while Hess was a late withdrawal with an ankle injury.

Teenage forward Tom Gilbert holds his spot on the bench after a successful debut in Round 4.

Jason Taumalolo has been named in the reserves as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

Friday night’s game kicks off at 6pm.
