2019 season review: Scott Drinkwater

Scott Drinkwater began 2019 in Melbourne, but ended it as one of the shining lights of the season for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys.

Drinkwater joined the Cowboys in June and Paul Green immediately named him at fullback for the club’s Round 15 clash with St George Illawarra.

The 22-year-old scored a brilliant individual try just 29 minutes into his Cowboys career and crossed again in his third and fourth appearances.

Drinkwater also showed off an impressive passing game with three try assists, highlighted by a brilliant flick pass to send Kyle Feldt over in the season finale against the Storm in Melbourne.

After coming to North Queensland with just one top grade game on his resume, Drinkwater ended the season with no doubts surrounding his ability to fullback in the NRL.
