For the first time this year North Queensland Toyota Cowboys members and fans will be treated to the acoustic sounds of Queensland duo Busby Marou before Cowboys v Broncos.
With the addition of Busby Marou performing live in 1300SMILES Stadium at 7:20pm, this Thursday night will gain another edge to the all-in Queensland derby.
Originally from Rockhampton, acoustic duo Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou will perform three songs showcasing the vocal interplay, storytelling and unique vibe they're loved for.
The duo both agree that performing at 1300SMILES Stadium in Townsville reminds them of home.
"The atmosphere and energy is the greatest, it still has a country feel which reminds us of home and everyone in the crowd feels like an old family friend."
Tom Busby added, "we love our Rugby League and we never miss Queensland clashes."
Busby Marou achieved accolades when their song 'Best Part of Me' won the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) award for best blues and roots work of the year and their third album, Postcards from the Shell House, debuted on top of the ARIA chart.
Although they have gained nationwide recognition, Jeremy Marou says they like returning home to Central and North Queensland crowds.
"We're proud of where we come from."
"Our gigs in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Rocky are bigger and better than all our city gigs," Marou said.
