North Queensland Toyota Cowboys playmaker Te Maire Martin will be sidelined indefinitely after scans revealed the 23-year-old has a small bleed on the brain.

Club medical staff are continuing to investigate the cause of the bleeding, although it is not yet clear whether it is football-related.

Martin continues to rest at home and is scheduled to meet with a Townsville-based specialist later this week.

The Cowboys will provide an update as more information comes to hand.
