Junior Participation Program kicking off this week

The NRL’s new National Junior Participation Program has arrived!

The junior rugby league program is open to students aged 5 to 12 in over 40 locations across Queensland in term one.

No experience is necessary, and this is a great introduction for new players and allows all participants to participate in non-contact rugby league skills program in a fun and friendly environment.

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Game Development Manager Liam Bartlett said the program is a great way for kids to get involved in the sport and make new friends.

“The National Junior Participation Program run by NRL development is a great concept to introduce new and current players to fun rugby league skills in a safe and friendly environment,” said Bartlett.

“Grassroots rugby league is imperative to not only grow the game but inspire kids to learn new skills, have fun and meet new friends.”

North Queensland locations include Ravenshoe, Andergrove, Sarina, Rural View, Mirriwinni, Rasmussen, Douglas, Westcourt and Cooktown, with the first six-week program kicking off at Ravenshoe State School this Tuesday, 12 February.
