The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are thrilled to announce Australian popstar and Eurovision Grand Finalist Isaiah Firebrace will be headlining an epic pre-game tribute show at Johnathan Thurston's final home game next Friday.
With live music performances from Isaiah as well as local favourites Jade Holland and Trent Bell, tributes to the beloved Cowboy and a fireworks display, members and fans are guaranteed to be entertained from gates open at 5.45pm until JT leaves the field at 1300SMILES Stadium for the last time.
In the past few years, Isaiah has transformed from a small-town singer with big dreams, to one of Australia's most successful artists, having amassed over 200 million streams globally and video views reaching almost 11 million, and he's thrilled to be involved in a show that honours such a legend of the game.
"It is such an honour for me to perform at Johnathan Thurston's farewell match. Johnathan has been an inspiration to rugby league lovers across Australia but also to Indigenous people around the country," Isaiah said.
"He leaves behind so many fans and big, big shoes to fill. I wish him all the very best and am delighted that I will be there to witness such a momentous night."
Members and fans watching JT wear his Cowboys colours at home for the very last time will also have the opportunity to show their thanks for the club legend when he completes a final lap of honour after the full-time whistle.
"With one week to go until JT's final home game, ticket sales are steady – with 8,000 tickets left we have grandstand seating and general admission still available," Cowboys CEO Greg Tonner said.
"As the last opportunity to thank JT for his contribution to the club and the community over the past 14 years we'd love everyone to secure their ticket and ensure we're packing 1300SMILES Stadium to give JT a fitting farewell."
Tickets for the Round 24 Cowboys v Eels match, proudly brought to you by LGIAsuper, are still available via cowboys.com.au/tickets.
