With three appearances at 1300SMILES Stadium remaining for our legendary co-captain Johnathan Thurston, we take a look at how JT has fared against the Newcastle Knights during his Cowboys career.
Thurston has taken on the Knights 19 times in Cowboys colours during his record-breaking 14-year tenure at the club.
His first appearance against the Novocastrians for North Queensland came in Round 4 of the 2005 season, a resounding 52-18 Cowboys victory in Townsville.
Of those 19 clashes during the JT era in North Queensland, the Cowboys have won 11 including their last two, the most recent of which was a 46-16 triumph in Round 13 of the 2016 season during which Thurston booted seven goals from eight attempts.
The 35-year-old has scored seven tries in his showdowns with the Knights, including a double in a 14-point outing in Round 24 of the 2009 season.
Thurston's 65 goals in Newcastle clashes are his fourth most against any club in the NRL.
The retiring Cowboys superstar will play his final game against the Knights on Friday night at 6pm at 1300SMILES Stadium.
