After making his comeback from a pec injury at centre, Kyle Laybutt moves to his preferred five-eighth position this weekend. Laybutt made a line-break and chipped in 11 tackles during a sound performance during his first appearance for the Cutters since Round 5.

Gideon Gela-Mosby continued his stellar run of form last weekend, scoring the Pride's only two tries in their gutsy victory over the Townsville Blackhawks. The Round 16 double takes his tally to seven tries in his past five games.

The Blackhawks have been boosted by the addition of Cowboys premiership-winning centre Justin O'Neill. O'Neill busted four tackles and ran for 74 metres in his first appearance for the Blackhawks in 2018 against the Northern Pride last weekend.

Under 18s Queensland rep Garrett Smith is starting to make his mark in the under 20s. Smith ran for a mammoth 192 metres and broke nine tackles in the Cutters' Round 16 victory over the Capras.

A newly-minted member of the Queensland Under 20s State of Origin squad, Logan Bayliss has emerged as one of the top front rowers in the competition this season. Bayliss has run for at least 100 metres in six of his previous eight games and has broken at least five tackles in four separate games this season.
