With five regular season appearances at 1300SMILES Stadium remaining for our legendary co-captain Johnathan Thurston, we take a look at how JT has shaped up against the New Zealand Warriors during his Cowboys career.
Thurston has taken on the Warriors 17 times in Cowboys colours, with his first appearance coming in Round 3 of the 2005 season – a 32-22 North Queensland triumph at Mt Smart Stadium.
Of those 17 clashes in Thurston's tenure at the club, the Cowboys have won 10, including three of their previous four.
The 35-year-old has scored four tries in his showdowns with the New Zealand-based outfit, his most recent coming in arguably his most dominant performance – an 18-point masterclass in a huge Cowboys 50-16 thrashing of the Warriors in Round 24 of the premiership-winning 2015 season.
Thurston's 57 goals against the Warriors are his seventh most against any club.
The retiring Cowboys superstar will play his final regular season game against the Warriors this Friday at 6pm at 1300SMILES Stadium.
