North Queensland Toyota Cowboys legends Brent Tate and Matt Bowen teamed up with community partner North Queensland Bulk Ports to blitz Mackay in April!
The visit, part of a series of North Queensland Bulk Ports blitzes planned for this year, included school visits and an open junior rugby league training session with hundreds of eager young players.
Highlights of the Mackay blitz:
- Cheering on participants in the Slade Point State School cross country
- Talking about healthy eating at assembly with Emmanuel Catholic Primary School
- Encouraging school attendance at Carlisle Adventist College, with Braden Uele and Shane Wright
- Classroom activities at St Brendan's Primary School, with Braden Uele and Shane Wright
- Mackay JRL training session at Brothers Bulldogs with skills and drills and lots of fun!
The partnership between the Cowboys and North Queensland Bulk Ports includes blitzes in all four NQBP sea port locations (Mackay, Sarina, Bowen and Weipa), with the Mackay visit kicking off the 2017 program.
