The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ under-20s team have dropped a second-straight game after falling 34-18 to South Sydney in an error-riddled performance at 1300SMILES Stadium.

Despite opening the try scoring through Bacho Salam, the Cowboys were unable to muscle up in defence against a superior Rabbitohs forward pack, which consistently made its way to the Cowboys' 30-metre line.

The Rabbitohs scored three consecutive tries in the first half, with Tom Perrin, Maia Sands and Jamel Hunt scoring in the 11th, 16th and 28th minutes respectively.

The Cowboys took a late try in the first half with Marcus Jensen crossing in the 35th minute.

The half-time score stood at 24-8 due to three penalty goals to the Rabbitohs, given away by slow ruck speed from the Cowboys.

The Rabbitohs opened scoring five minutes into the second half through David Wright, as the Cowboys managed to get into an arm wrestle, replying through Marcus Jensen.

The home side was unable to get on top though as the Rabbitohs scored again, bringing the scoreboard to 28-14.

Cooper Bambling took a consolation try off a deft kick in the 75th minute, for a final score of 34-18.
