The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys will be carried by a bold new theme song in Season 2015 that will shake the foundations of 1300SMILES Stadium and inspire players, members and fans in the club’s 20th anniversary season.

“Cowboys Evolution (Rise Up)” is an edgy heart-starter written and performed by ex-Townsville boy and Cowboys die-hard Andrew Cole, aka Andy The Kid, and featuring guest vocalist Toby Rand from Melbourne’s Juke Kartel fame.
Andy is a former Ignatius Park College student and Cowboys ball boy who followed his passion for music to the US and is building a successful career there, playing bass guitar in several high-profile bands before most recently embarking on a solo career.
The song, penned by Andy in 2014, has come to life in a cutting-edge music video that was launched in front of 700 special guests at the club’s season corporate launch at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre yesterday.
Featuring Cowboys cheerleaders and a passionate delivery of Andy’s ‘Rise Up’ vision, the video also includes match vision that showcases North Queensland’s entertaining style of play and sets the scene for a thrilling 2015 season.
Cowboys members and supporters will be able to rock out to the new song at home games and club events and will also be able to purchase their own copy on iTunes to play on their mobile or tablet.
Cowboys General Manager – Commercial Steve Mitchell says the song is a change of pace for the club and is certain to get pulses racing.
“We’re very excited to bring a new sound to Cowboys game day and show a different side to our club – we’re always working hard to improve the experience of our members and fans and ‘Cowboys Evolution’ is just one of the initiatives for 2015,” he said.
For artist Andy The Kid, the inspiration for the project was about giving back.
“I’ve supported the Cowboys since they came into the competition and it’s nice to be able to give something back to a team that’s given so much to me.
“I was watching the game while on tour in the US and felt that the team needed a song with a bit of oomph and energy and right there and then I penned Cowboys Evolution, sent it off to the Cowboys, they loved it and the rest is history.”
